My Whitetail Deer, Quail, & Pheasant Hunting Trip To Iowa

Posted by Darrell under: Planning a Trip.

I’m off to Iowa. Actually, by the time you read this - I’ll be in Iowa, happily hunting for giant whitetail deer. My friend Dana invited me to accompany him to his family farm for this season’s whitetail deer hunt. The ‘farm’ is apparently over 7,000 acres of Iowa rolling hills, all planted in corn; except the treed wind […]

How Much Does It Cost To Have A Bear Processed In & Shipped From Juneau, Alaska?

Posted by Darrell under: Black Bear; Alaska; Planning a Trip.

One of the questions that no one could answer for me before embarking on my recent Spring Bear hunt in Alaska was “How much does it cost to have a bear processed and shipped to me in Missouri?” I’m not sure why no one had the answer. Preparing for My Archery Elk Hunt in Colorado Unit 71

Posted by Darrell under: Elk; By Location; Colorado; Planning a Trip.

I’m returning to Colorado this fall to hunt my old nemesis – Bull Elk. This year the game plan has changed some, though. First, we are going during the rut – the third week of September. Second, we will be toting compound bows instead of rifles, and third, we will be staying at a lodge […]
