A Message to the Anonymous Anti-hunting Crowd

From time to time I receive some very hateful comments from the anti-hunting crowd. I usually allow them to post. Once in a while the comments are so derogatory and hateful that I have to delete them. If I allowed them all, my blog would soon become X-Rated.
The thing I’ve noticed about these anti-hunters that love to post hateful comments on my blog is that they always do so anonymously. What is up with that? Why do they slink around under the cover of anonymity? Are they ashamed of the way they feel? It appears so. What am I missing here?
After reading a recent ‘anonymous’ comment where hunters are first referred to as ‘bastards’ and then told to get some respect for mother nature and get a life I had to just laugh. It made me wonder just how much this anonymous person contributes towards conserving our great outdoors. Hunters are spearheading the conservation of wildlife. Why are the antis so blinded by hate to see this? Not only do we respect mother nature, we LOVE the outdoors. We also love the wildlife that we are working so hard to preserve.
I cannot imagine waisting my time by trolling the blogs of the anti-hunters and leaving hateful comments. Why do they troll ours? It simply doesn’t make sense. However, as much as I respect the outdoors, mother nature, and my right to hunt, I respect that others have differing opinions. I don’t agree with their opinions and I surely don’t agree with the hateful and derogatory methods they use for broadcasting their opinions. I do agree that they have the right to their own opinion.
Regardless, everyone should be aware that hunting season is upon us. Soon, I sincerely hope, this blog will be covered in posts about this fall’s hunting season, including my successes and my failures. So, if you find this type of content offensive and generally consider hunters to be ’sickos’, please take your anonymous self elsewhere.
Regards,
Darrell

Well said, Darrell. Sad that people can waste time by cruising our sites - and waste more time by leaving hateful comments. Oh well. Good post - and I wish you the best of luck this season! Here’s to seeing your mug behind a rack sometime in the future on this site! ![]()

I always wonder how many of these type of individuals have ever done anything to help mother nature. They claim that we need to respect mother nature, but I am willing to bet they have never planted a tree, planted a garden, or donated one cent to an organization that helps to promote the outside world.
Good luck this season. I cannot wait for it to get here.

Unfortunately, the Internet allows certain people to hide who they really are, and so makes them feel that they can say whatever they like without any fear of censure.
I’ve often been puzzled by the attitude of the antis. The disconnect between saying killing an animal is murder, but advocating the killing of a hunter always mystifies me. If you revere life, shouldn’t you revere all life?

I do not like hunting but I also understand that different people like different things. I came across this website whilst on Google Images and it brought up the picture of the stag with an antler in its eye and I clicked out of curiosity.
People say hunters should be killed as they are preying on defenceless animals that do absolutely nothing wrong apart from be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Humans know better, does it make you feel like a man having a big gun and taking a pop at an animal that is totally defenceless? You seriously all have problems in your head, why does it make you proud that you can take a life that wasn’t yours to take in the first place? And don’t come out with you preserve wildlife shit, you take it away not preserve it, preserving it on a wall mount is hardly the same thing is it.

Zoe,
I must tell you any people that say “hunters should be killed” are obviously psychotic. I’m not overly fond of your crowd, but I would never go so far as to say you need killed.
You ask, “does it make me feel like a man having a big gun and taking a pop at an animal that is totally defenseless?”
My answer is “I wouldn’t know.” You see, I’ve never seen a defenseless animal. The animals I hunt are wild and in their habitat. I’d say I’m more defenseless than they are. If I ever see a defenseless animal, I will do it a favor, though, and kill it immediately.
I will say that having a big gun and shooting at animals doesn’t make me feel any more manly.
BTW, I do feel like a man. I have no uncertainties or self doubts in that regards. I do have plenty of confidence and feel pretty secure with who I am. This goes a lot deeper I’m sure, than the simple fact that I hunt….. On the flip side, hunting doesn’t hurt my confidence any, either.
Anyone silly enough to believe that animals are defenseless (and therefor ‘helpless’) could NEVER understand why I feel proud when I harvest one. If you ever spent a week in the outdoors, truly at one with nature, your entire emotional ‘idealism’ would change. I’m not saying you would leave as a hunter. However, your “defenseless animal” crap would quickly end.
I do admire your passion, though, and am glad to see someone from the anti-hunting crowd with the balls to actually say who they are. Regards and thanks for the comment.

Your not more defenceless than they are because you have a gun, nothing stands a chance when you have a gun!! You already have an advantage!

To Zoe, Please leave us hunters alone and go hug a tree or something like that. You evidently know nothing about preserving wildlife……If there were no hunters you would have an over population of starving poor quality animals. We make food plots, put up feeders, salt blocks, many many things we do to help the quality of the animals life. Have you thought about this……..Maybe we are feeding a dozen quality deer with a food plot and we harvest One animal a year. NOW THATS PRESERVING WILDLIFE MY FRIEND, Now that leaves eleven nice healthy deer running wild enjoying life and trying to dodge idiot City people who know nothing about hunting on the highways who drive to fast putting the eleven nice healthy deer in harms way
Hey I know, lets outlaw people driving in cars because they put these defenceless deer in harms way. Now go back to one of your hand holding Liberal websites and have a good life. Sorry guys about the long winded ranting

Zoe,
You cannot possibly be so naive as to think that if we “hunting bastards” would just stop killing these poor defenceless animals, they would all live happily ever after. It’s just not true. I come from a long line of hunters in Michigan and I can remember years where the Department of Natural Resources completely canceled deer season due to low population. But that was over 20 years ago. Nowadays I hear that the Whitetail deer population is completely out of control. Hundreds and hundreds are killed on highways and back roads, endangering drivers (and themselves). My point is that most animals , especially deer, aren’t smart enough to know when to stop breeding. They will keep reproducing until there isn’t enough food or space to survive. THAT is why annual hunting seasons are closely regulated to CONTROL the deer population.
If the government outlawed hunting today, I’m sure you would be overjoyed. But, you see, the government would STILL need to cull the excess animals somehow.
You people only think about the situation emotionaly. Not practically. Perhaps you watched Bambi too much when you were a child and believe the wilderness is really that way. I don’t know. All I’m saying is to do your research before you form an opinion.
Bt the way are you a vegitarian? If not, do you kill your own meat? We do.

First of all, let me say I wasn’t trolling your site. I was actually searching for anti-hunting articles. Then I found your article that blabs on about how anti’s “hate”. I can’t think of a better example of “hate” than chasing a defenseless animal while smelling its fear, and getting some kind of satisfaction by mortally wounding something that was peaceful before some idiot in camo decided he needed to get his rocks off. It’s a good thing you hicks are a dying breed. If you put enough small men with gun and beer together, the world will right itself. You know the old “There are no hunting accidents, just karma.” line. I could care less if you post this or not. And I’m not intimidated by some inbred idiots that have to feel big somehow. If you want my address, let me know. Even us anti-hunters need target practice.

Shane, You evidently know nothing about preserving wildlife. Hunters killing deer actually creates the overpopulation because nature tries to conserve itself. The ecosystem would do just fine without psychos with guns. Trust me.

Jeff,
I thought it was inbred hicks like yourself that “aren’t smart enough to know when to stop breeding”? And it is people that will keep on reproducing until there is no food or space to survive. Can we hunt welfare cases to control your family tree? You know, there is an overpopulation of cats and dogs too? Same solution? Oh, but you rednecks would have to eat what you kill.
