Game Log: October 27 (Evening) - Corner Blind
Posted by Darrell under: Game Log .
Caleb & Emma on Youth Hunt
Location: Corner Blind
Temperature: Mid 60’s
Wind: SW 0-5 MPH
Time: 4:00pm to 6:55pm
Field Notes: Nothing Again.
Other Notes: Poachers came in off county road and shot within 100 yards of blind. Caught a glimpse of a white 4wd diesel pickup. I think they were shooting at our decoy. Losers were terrible shots and couldn’t even hit the decoy. Would have went after them - except for having kids with me. They blew our evening hunt.

I hate poachers. Luckily they just ruined your night, and not your life! I hope you called the local game warden to make them aware of your problem.
I know they can not always do something immediately, but at least they could keep a closer eye on your place in the future.
And shoot, I would go back with your decoy and video camera and film them doing it again. I know I have had almost as much fun trying to catch trespassers/poachers on my trailcams as I have getting big bucks! Of course I would rather take care of those problems during the slow hunting times and not the rut…

Man…that is a bummer. I hate the bad seeds. Makes it hard for the rest of us to be taken seriously.
You probably did the smart move though by not going after them, especially having the kids with ya. Would have been hard not to though I’ll tell ya that.

Jeff, I probably will take my video camera and try to get them on film. I have plans to put a high tree stand up with camo netting that most people would probably never even notice. I’d love to get the idiots on film!
Arthur, I’m sure it was the smart thing to not go after them, but it was also the hard thing to do.
