My Friend Mike’s Buck

While I was traipsing around Colorado, looking for elk while trying to climb out of holes, my friends Mike and Matt were back home taking advantage of Missouri’s opening weekend of archery whitetail deer season. Mike spent opening weekend hunting out at Matt’s and it paid off nicely. Him and his Mathews Switchback hooked up to take this nice 8 point.
In Missouri you can take one buck (with a bow) before rifle season, one during rifle season, and one after. Mike filled his pre-rifle season buck tag on opening weekend of Missouri’s archery season. Congrats Mike!

Awesome. It’s always nice to see someone come through and actually shoot a deer. My last two years have been rough with my bow.

Nice buck! I am hoping to take at least one good deer with the bow this year, but I am not picky so more then likely it is going to be the first doe that comes within 30 yards.
