Outdoor Accolades: Early Season Tips, Missing A Shot, Arrow Head Buck
Posted by Darrell under: Blog Posts of Note .
I’m dedicating this week’s accolades to the subject of deer hunting. Afterall, tis the season:
9 Early Season Deer Hunting Tips
Don gives some great tips and reminders for early season hunters. Bow season is upon us and for many of us opening day is this weekend! As Don points out, hunting deer during the early season is much different than hunting later in the Fall. All of the tips Don gives are good. The tip about fertilizing natural forage is a new one to me. If you hunt the early season, you need to read this timely and beneficial article.
What if you miss?!?!?! - Buck Fever Series Continued
Bryan, the deer PHD, gives some great tips of what to do if you miss. Yes, that’s right, Bryan is actually talking about the taboo subject of missing. He starts his article with an interesting statistic. He admits it is made up, but I’m guessing that it is accurate. I won’t spoil it here, if you want the statistic you’re going to have to read his article. Remember, practice, practice, so you don’t miss. But, if you do, remember Bryan’s tips.
How To Miss Deer.
In response to Bryan’s article above, Bill Anderson wrote a funny post about how to miss deer. I, like most of us (I’m assuming), can relate to his list. When your ready for a laugh, take a look.
A Real Deer Story
Craig, at Outdoor U, has a story that shows why you don’t want to miss. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. A big buck with an arrow through his head. I don’t know for sure if it’s real. Seems like the buck would have broken the arrow off, but who knows? To be honest, just seeing a buck walking toward me that already had an arrow in him might just be enough to break my concentration and cause my shot to go wild. Check this story and pictures out. And, don’t miss!
