How Does The Swag For Writing Program Work?
Posted by Darrell under: Blogging About The Outdoors .
Let me dispel some myths. Yes, I’m willing to give you an item from my AlphaTrilogy.com Swag Shop for helping me out with some writing. No, I’m not simply turning my blog over to other writers. Yes, most of my blog content will still be written by me. Yes, I will give any guest writers credit (a byline and link) for anything that they write for my site.
Yes, I’m looking forward to hunting this fall and yes I’ll continue to post compelling content. No, I do not want to collaborate on any writing projects as that would likely take even more time and is in direct conflict with why I’m asking for guest writers in the first place.
Yes, I realize that there are many people that would write a blog post without any ’swag’ compensation. Yes, many would do it simply for the link, the byline, or even to help me out. No, I don’t care about that, because I’m excited about giving away the swag! No, I won’t give you money instead. Yes, you can choose whichever swag item you want. No, you can’t have more than one (come on people I’m not made of money!)
Ok, enough of the yes and no myth dispelling. Let’s get on to the basics at hand. How do you swap your article for swag (and byline and link)?
Email your article to me along with a message of which item from my Swag Shop you’d like and your full name and mailing address. As long as your article is suitable for publication, I’ll buy your swag item and get it shipped directly to you. You may receive it prior to your article posting. The reason for this is that I’m basically using your article as filler when I don’t have time to post my own article (probably because I’m sitting painfully still in a tree stand).
If you don’t already have my email address, send me a message via my contact me form and I’ll reply with my email address. I’m not publishing it here because it will get picked up by all the spammers.
I’m really hoping to get lots of participation from a variety of writers. Please don’t be bashful. Also, if you’d like to mention this program on your own blog, I’d greatly appreciate it!

I dig the coffee mug. Any further guidelines on the kind of post you want?

I’m kind of liking the coffee mug too. I’ll have to see what I can whip up.

Matt & Kristine, I don’t really have any other guidelines. Just inspire readers to enjoy the outdoors. You are both awesome writers so I’m confident that your articles will do that!
