Wanted: Guest Outdoor Writers. Top Pay Offered

Posted by Darrell under: Blogging About The Outdoors .

The title says it all and it is true - except for the top pay part. That part was just to grab your attention. I need your help! I’ve realized three very important things about blogging:

1) Blogging is fun and I’m in it for the long haul

2) I’m really, really busy (like everyone else) and occassionally I don’t have time to blog (especially when I’m in the woods for a week)

3) My blog readers deserve a new post every day

——————————————————————————

As the more intuitive of you have already deciphered, as the fall hunting season rapidly approaches, I’m worried about having days where I can’t get anything posted.

So, my solution to this potential problem is to start a guest writers series. Why would anyone in their right mind want to write an article for my blog? Two reasons immediately spring to mind:

1) A byline and link to your own blog (if you have one)

2) Really cool swag (there is a reason for my logo)

I know that cash is king, but AlphaTrilogy swag surely can’t be that far behind.

So how does it work? Simple. Just choose one of the following topics and start writing:

  • Women and Hunting (a broad topic)
  • Introducing Children To The Outdoors
  • Starting An Outdoor Related Company
  • My Favorite Bow
  • My Favorite Firearm
  • Hunting, Fishing, and School
  • Hunting ETHICS
  • Fishing ETHICS

Once you’ve completed your article, please email it to me. As long as I deem it usable, I’ll send you some great ’swag’ in return - as well as attribute the article to you and link to your personal blog if you have one. It might not post for a week or two, but don’t worry - if I tell you I’m going to, then I’ll use it.

What makes an article usable?

  • You must love the outdoors (this is pretty obvious)
  • Your article must be 100% original. Please don’t plagiarize or send me a copy of something you’ve already posted on your own blog. Please don’t post the article you send me on your own blog, either. You must basically give me exclusive rights to use your article on my blog.
  • Your material cannot be vulgar or offensive
  • Your article needs to inspire readers to enjoy the outdoors
  • I don’t have any length requirements, but it needs to be appropriate for a blog. Somewhere beyond a paragraph and less than a novel.

That’s it. It is that simple. If you already have a blog then the additional exposure would be a great thing. If you don’t have one, this is a great opportunity at trying your hand at writing about something you love and seeing how people respond. Plus, you’ll really be helping me out!

There’s pay? I mean swag? Who doesn’t like free swag?

I may have to take you up on this.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea, Darrell! (Although I still have never warmed up to the “swag” term … I still like the IDEA of swag).

With a little luck and not a lot of rain, I’ll be at my favorite smallmouth spot this weekend - so I, too, might have just the inspiration necessary to take you up on the new guest blogging program!

Mandy, I’d be thrilled for you to write an article and sport some Alpha swag! You’re still one of my favorite writers. Good luck with the small mouth.
