Outdoor Accolades: Hunt of Lifetime Donation & A Six Month Hike

Skinny Moose Media Donates Advertising Space to “Hunt of a Lifetime”
Before reading this article I wasn’t familiar with the Hunt of a Lifetime organization. Apparently, their mission is to grant hunting & fishing adventures and dreams for children age 21 and under, who have been diagnosed with life threatening illnesses. What a worthy goal. This article made me think. Steve and crew donated exposure via advertising - something that has the potential to be more valuable than a cash donation. Sometimes, we just don’t have the cash to give to an organizaiton - no matter how good their cause. However, we all have our voices (and bloggers have their keyboards), and we can use these to help these worthy organizations get their message out and the exposure they need. Kudos Steve & crew!
The Appalachian Trail Revisited
Denny over at Backwoods Drifter just announced his plans to hike the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia in 2008. What makes this five or six month journey even more exciting is that he is going to share the experience with us. Denny is planning on posting his progress and pictures for the duration of the journey. I, for one, can’t wait to read about this trip!
