Duck Hunting Looking Up - Especially if You Live In Or Near Arkansas or Illinois
Posted by Darrell under: In The News .
We’ve all heard by now that Duck numbers are up! How high? How about up 24% over the past 50 year average. I don’t really know what that means, but I’ll take everyone’s word for it that it is a good thing.
It might even be a ‘great’ thing if you live near or in Arkansas or Illinois. A 60-day waterfowl hunting season, with a six-bird daily bag limit, was proposed Thursday by the Arkansas State Game and Fish Commission staff at the panel’s monthly meeting. And the Illinois Department of Natural Resources recommendations also include a 60-day duck season in all zones!
You just MIGHT have the chance to hunt the huge duck population for 60 full days! Wow.
Btw, if you are worried about actually hitting the ducks you shoot at, Craig at Outdoor U advises “SLOW DOWN“.

I do not know when I have seen more waterfowl than this year. Everywhere you look you see geese and ducks. It’s going to be a good year for waterfowl hunters.

I agree, Othmar. Waterfowlers are going to be one happy group!
