Othmar wrote an interesting post about British Columbia actually taking some steps to get more hunters. One of the first steps was to set a goal of generating 20,000 new hunters by 2014. Seems like a positive move in the right direction not only for British Columbia hunters - but for all hunters!
Moose posted some good news regarding an extension of the OSHA public comment period. Remember, if OSHA has their way, buying ammunition as we know it will be a thing of the past!
Western Wanderer (rack tracker) had an interesting post last night about how fire can affect hunting. I especially appreciated this because I recently took a course offered by the Missouri Dept of Conservation on using fire as a tool for habitat restoration.
Michelle at Fishing Fiesta posted some great tips for resuscitating a fish. It is a shame to practice catch and release if what you release is just going to die. Use Michelle’s tips to ensure that more of the fish you release actually survive!

If OSHA has postponed the end of comments until Sept., someone big must be putting heat on them. OSHA must have thought they could put something over on the shooting public!

Jon, my guess is that OSHA is feeling some serious pressure! What they are proposing is ludicrous!
Othmar, I only mention posts that I really feel are worth reading. While, I’ll readily admit that I likely ‘miss’ many great posts each day, I will not admit including any posts that aren’t trully worth the time to read. Please keep up the great posts! and THANKS for mentioning me on your Blogg Buzz!
