A speargun product idea! Somebody can forever change spearfishing.

If you’ve ever speargun hunted you’ve probably experienced a ‘miss’. It really stinks to miss a big fish that is swimming buy. How can you miss a fish that is less than 5 feet away. Really easily - that’s how! I’ve missed and missed again.

The other day I was having lunch with a couple of friends and we came up with an idea. In fact, over lunch we were planning our next spearfishing trip. I was talking about missing fish that were suspended or swimming versus how easy it is to shoot something laying close to bottom or against a log. We all had experienced the same thing - missed big fish that were swimming. BTW, we all use short shock cords so we never shoot beyond what we can see.

Here is the brilliant idea, and I don’t remember which of us came up with it (probably Jeff), that will change the sport of speargun hunting forever! What if we could attach a laser sight to our spear gun? I have a laser sight on my Walther P22. It is integrated with the gun and is pretty sweet, but I’ve seen the cheap ones on ebay that just strap on. Why doesn’t anyone make a laser that will just strap on to my spear gun?

It turns out that none of us actually ever aim the gun (using the existing sites), as it just doesn’t work. We all just point and shoot. What if we could see exactly where we were pointing? Imagine how awesome that would be!

If one already exists or if someone wants to start making them - let me know. I’ll be the first to buy one and I have at least two friends that will quickly follow suit.

I wonder, though, if there is some law against aiming at fish with a laser?
