Why is this Blog named AlphaTrilogy?
Posted by Darrell under: A Trilogy - 3 Methods of Pursuit; My Journal .
This blog will follow my attempts to become a better outdoorsman. I love to hunt and fish and will share my experiences, good and bad, via this blog. AlphaTrilogy is a combination of two terms.
First, Alpha (as in alpha male) was chosen because I think hunting and fishing is a very “alpha” male type pursuit. We are always teasing my friend Billy about being THE alpha male because he seems to fill all of his tags quicker than anyone else I hunt with. Remarkably, Billy only uses a bow. No guns! Amazingly, he has only been hunting a couple years. I, on the other hand, grew up hunting. Regardless, Billy smokes me in every hunt. Not that I’m claiming hunting is a competitive sport - just stating why I have a good natured quest to be the alpha outdoorsman! Lookout Billy!
Trilogy refers to the three main instruments in my quest to be the alpha outdoorsman: guns, bows, and rod & reels! Unlike my friend Billy, I have no aversion to firearms. I love to hunt deer with my trusted Remington 870 Express slug gun almost as much as with my XP-35 compound bow. I simply love being outside regardless of what ‘device, weapon, or tool’ I’m using. On this blog I will chronicle my experiences with all three - as well as post pictures from my trips, etc.
I plan to blog about my hunting and fishing trips - what happens, where I go, how I prepare, what I harvest, and any guides and or equipment I use. It will take me a while to get the blog up to speed as I’m not much of a writer. However, I hope the final product is a helpful resource for you as well as a way for me, my family, and friends to remember and savor every experience.
Please enjoy my rantings and feel free to leave comments, suggestions, tips, ideas, complaints, or even praise. My head is not too big to properly enjoy some well deserved praise now and again!
